1. How many flies can you count on this Angelica sylvestris flower umbel?
2. How many species/families/genera can you see?

Jorge, no this is genuine. No photoshopping at all. Taken last week in a local woodland.

I counted 46, so well done finding another 6 - those tiny Chloropidae take some spotting!!

This was supposee to be fun Frown. Anyway I played. Counted 42 flies, some other non-descript blobs which takes some imagination to call them flies.
No way I could identify families.
Good test to see who needs to get a life Shock

I'm lucky to see 1 fly on our local flowers at present. Nice shot.

I had a good look at the full resolution file and counted about fifty of just the tiny flies - so most of the non-descript blobs are probably flies (mainly Chloropidae).

I need to get a life for one!Grin But, hell, its cold and raining and this is the next best way of seeing flies!
