I think it would be rather rash to assume any psocopteran found on Shetland is the same species as previously. They are a very under-recorded group. From memory, Amphigerontia have patterned wings, whereas yours has no wings at all. Bob Saville at Fife Local Records Centre is the British expert so you could send the picture to him.

Got a reply from Bob Saville with the bad news (for me)that it is Lepinotus patruelis, (take that smug look off your face John, I can feel it from up here). The good news is it isn't on my Checklist.
