Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Syrphus sp. requires an ID.

Getting an ID for this Syrphus would complete my Hoverflies for 2008. Thanks to all who have spared the time for the past 3months + to ID my posts.Smile.

Syrphus torvus or vitripennis, female.
Closer ID not possible.

Thanks for that Andre, I was kind of hoping it was Torvus
but sp. it will be.Frown.

Take the earliest Syrphus specimens that come up after the winter and you have the best chance, between relatively lower cases of ribesii and vitripennis.
