Hello,
Did these two flies have the same problem ( Entomophthera muscae ), or was the hoverfly suffering from something else ? The hoverfly seemed to behave as usual, wenn I took the picture.

I am sure the first one had a very bad case of
Entomophthora muscae.
If the stuff on the second had been yellow, I would have said that it had been hit by the excrements of a pollen eating insects like a bee or bumblebee. Just like we are sometimes hit by bird droppings (if we are unlucky). Well, probably it is still something like that, but I am open to other suggestions.
