Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Can you suggest family?

I am glad to find this forum. Hopefully you can help me to put some of my mystery flies to families at least.

My best guess for this particular one is Sciaridae. The photo was made in Japan.

Your best guess is indeed the best. Maybe Kai can tell you more about htis genus of Sciaridae.
