I've come across these puparia before, though I've never reared anything from them. They remind me of the "flaxseed" puparium of Mayetolia (Cecidomyidae), so I've sent the images to Keith Harris who may recognise them. Mayetolia is one of the very few Nematocera to have a puparium.

Well, as it was, Keith Harris was not really happy about
Mayetiola (he had "never seen one quite like this" ) and suggested I consult with another specialist. Whenever I will travel his way I will bring the specimen.
Checking
Mayetiola images on the web I can understand Keith's hesitation. The pictured pupae do not have such lobes posteriorly. So, if someone has another suggestion: SHOOT!
