I did not even suspect it was a diptera until I saw a similar drawing.

Numerous subjects on Nettle, this spring. 5-7mm. S-W of France

Hello Dimitri,
Yes, this is Sciaridae for sure.
I suspect it to be Sciara analis, but there are at least 2 other Sciara sp. that look a lot like this one!. You can then only tell them apart by examination of their genitals..
Usually you can find these Sciara's on flowers, for example Umbellifera, also in july and august!

Dimitri,

S. analis is one possibility, but I think that S. thomae might be a better option. According to Les dipt?res de France, Belgique, Suisse (Nouvel Atlas d'Entomologie) it is common on flowers (especially umbels) from June to September.
