Moscow region, 22 june, 7,5mm, common this week.
It seems to me that I've seen this fly at Diptera yet.

Are those apical scutellar bristles pointing upwards? If so it could be
Meigenia sp.

Yes, Chris, there are.
So, you mean that I've seen this fly at my own photo last week? So, I have to drink something to improve memory?
But at minimum this fly - another species?
Eyes bare, yellow grey dust - Meigenia pilosa?

Ahhh, I'm not sure which
Meigenia sp. - we don't have pilosa here so I am not familiar with that one

Lets save that one for Theo

Looks interesting.
The appendix to the bend in vein M and the strong bristles descending on parafacialia suggest Exorista.
But somehow it does not ring a bell.
