Only got this shot, half hidden by flower head of Ribes Shrub...possible to ID from this?

It is not
Melanostoma. Look at the front tarsae and you will see that the segments are flattened and broadened. so this one belongs to the genus
Platycheirus. My first immediate hunch was
peltatus-group. But to be certain, I would need the collected specimen.

Sorry...not collected, only seen it for a second. I don't collect anyway. If the locals saw me running round the garden with a net, men in white coats would be hammering on the door within the hour
. Not the done thing in Shetland for some reason.
