App 1.5cm with the legs.
Pictured in Tanzania.
Id possible?
What is it carrying? Eggs? Why?
Thanks

Lycosidae - female carrying its young - the female lays her eggs in a slik egg sac which she caries with her while hunting. When the eggs hatch, the young spiders cling on to their mother's abdomen until they are old enough to fend for themselves.

Wow. Thanks for the info!

Is there any chance of id'ing the genus?

Not by me!!!

- I find even the British lycosids are difficult!

You would need a very close photo from underside of the female and one or more photos showing the pedipalpus of the male... Sometimes you even have to take the so-called epigyne of the female (sexual organ) apart and see the vulva under the epigyne to have a species ID
