Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Opomyza

Moscow region, 14 july, 3mm
My guess O. germinationis?
#2
I don't think so - looks more like Diastatidae.
#3
Fortunely, it is Diptera, at least...
Well, I'm going to work with family key

#4
Thank you Tony.
Diastata nebulosa?
#5
Certainly looks very like it.
Don't worry too much about getting the family wrong. Even now I sometimes go off in the wrong direction for hours!

Then suddenly everything becomes clear and it all seems simple!

Fortunately we have the Diptera-info site to help - it is like a school for dipterists where we
all can learn new things.

Is it the same one?
08.08.2006, Bekasovo-1 station, Naro-Fominsk district, Moscow region, Russia. Size 3mm.
#7
Certainly
Diastata, but I'll have to get back to you on the species - I think there is more than one species that looks like
nebulosa.

Although the specimens don't belong to the family Opomyzidae, they are still beautifull

I readily agree Jan

. Maybe it's also worth noting, never saw this one flying, just walking and making short jumps.
