Hello!
Today there sat a Syrphidae in a garden in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, on a Fuller's teasel,
Dipsacus fullonum
, with Mildew.
Can you identify this fly and its sex, if possible?
Thank you, Xaver

Thoracic and abdominal pattern are characteristic of
Myathropa florea
. Judging from the tip of the abdomen (rather rounded terminal segment) I would say a male.
