Thread subject: Diptera.info :: little hunter with snout

hello flyforum,

Yesterday I found this fly - hunting, making movements with its snout to the ground -
Size about 3-4 mm and with a rather yellowcolour.

What kind of fly is this?

Unmistakably a member of the genus Platypalpus (Hybotidae).
