body without wings 4 mm. The thing wait in forrest for hot hairy things, like me, then flys to you and anchors into your hair, not actualy but the anchors on its legs prevent it to go backwards, so you have troubles to pull it out. Otherwise it does not fly - I think it only have energy for one fly - to the target.
Think off some dust on its wings.

Definitely a Dipteran so I'll move it to the correct forum
We call them Ked flies here and they are quite common at the end of the year in forests. Luckily they seem to take some time before they bite you but they can be a real pest when they fly into your hair and crawl around ... ewww .... yuk!
