Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chloropidae? O.frit.
#1
Found this lot on a Buttercup type flower..I can see a Sciarid ? (behind the blade of grass) and little wasp, but was wondering if the tiny flies are Chloropidae. I think I can make out the Ocellar triangle..maybe some
Oscinella sp. going by what's in the Gallery.
Sorry pics are bit duff...there was a LOT of sheep's crap around...and being a big woose, I didn't want to get COVERED IN IT.
Roger.....Ultima-woose.

A little bit closer, but not much better...

All flies are Oscinella ?frit, Chloropidae.

Chloropidae, Oscinellinae: Oscinella frit (L., 1758), the frit fly, a dangerous pest of cereals including maize. As the fore-tibiae are not completely yellow, O. pusilla (Meigen, 1830) can be excluded. The hymenopteron is a parasitoid Chalcidoidea wasp.
