Hello,

There are presently many Bibionidae of different species here in Burgundy.
The most common and biggest one is this one, which I think is Bibio marci.

(Saint Apollinaire, Burgundy - 14 mm long for female, male not measured)

Can you confirm B. marci, or are there similar species that can't be distinguished with such photos ?

Hello Benoit,
I think you are right with Bibio marci!
It is the only very big Bibionid which fly in very big numbers in spring!
