Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Which Eristalis? (April-18, 2010)

Hello!

There were many Eristalis pertinax and other Syrphids at a sloe bush three days ago (northwest Germany). This one (sorry, only pics from some distance) seems to belong to another species. But I can't come to a conclusion, whether it is a male E. interrupta or arbustorum.

Thanks, Jean-Claude. Most of the E. interrupta males here have smaller or no orange markings at all, so I was unsure.

I vote for arbustorum - cant see a proper central stripe on the face.
