Emerged from pupa of
Satyrium pruni (Lycaenidae). Size 10 mm. Found 2 possible candidates:
Listrodromus and
Virgichneumon.
Subject changed (June 17, 2010) from: Ichneumonidae, June 13, 2010 to: Ichneumon brevis, male (Camille Thirion and Joel Valemberg det.)

The host (different pupa of course, and not the same scale).

Not Virgichneumon, not Listrodromus!

It is a rare male of Ichneumon brevis Tischbein!
It would be extremely interesting to have it for checking of certain details, possible or not?

Many thanks Camille (and Joel Valemberg) - it's not mentioned at all in The Keys to the Insects of the European Part of the USSR, vol. 3, pt. 3 (1981) - Fauna Europaea gives distribution in Austria and France - the only reference I've found is N.F. Meyer, vol. 1, p.122, 176 (1933), as a parasite of
Thecla ilicis. I keep the pinned specimen so could have tried to check what needed (or just keep it more for experts). Of course Mr. Valemberg can use the images in his gallery.
