Hi
Juan R. F. Cardenete has granted these photos taken today in Sierra Nevada. He and others spotted several (!!) Nemestrinus spp. today.
Here comes the Nemestrinus perezii.
Photos will be uploaded for the gallery as well.

Hello, I have recently seen some Nemestrinus in high mountain areas of Sierra Nevada
Iberfauna database list six Nemestrinus species as presents in Iberia:
Nemestrinus ariasi
Nemestrinus ater
Nemestrinus caucasicus
Nemestrinus graecus
Nemestrinus nigrovillosus
Nemestrinus perezii
Anyone have information about descriptions or distribution?
Thanks

I saw a reference on this, but I do not have it at the moment. I would like to tell that this must be for now N. cf. perezii.

Hi,
I was in Sierra Nevada in july 2011 and also saw several of these Nemestrinus cf. perezii on 2000-2500m on the peak of the San Juan. As this is a reaction on a post of 2 years ago, maybe someone has an idea now if this Nemestrinus can be confused with other species and what features have to be looked at to clinch the id?
The flies I saw were not as "reachable" as the ones in the above pics but I still managed to get a more or less acceptable picture.

Did you collect that beauty, Pieter?

Unfortunately not, this was on a trip with my girlfriend and I was focused more on Lepidoptera during the trip than on Diptera. But I can give you the approximate coordinates and I need to get back one day to this place as I missed Plebejus zullichi, a Sierra Nevada endemic I really want to see...
