There are a few places where small plantations of trees have been established in the last 20 years. The previous sighting of this fly (2008) was near the largest plantation at Kergord which is about 15 miles from where I live. It is about 100 years since it was planted. I think the reason it hasn't shown up previously is no one is looking for flies...I am about the only one up here who is doing this stuff semi-seriously....(being diplomatic here)
