Hello,
A friend of mine have some "strange animals" at home.
They are average 3 cm long. They first crawl at the surface of this pond, then on the ground, and finally inside the house a few meters away. Pond is overhanged by
Salix. This occured during August (and still goes on as far as I know), in East part of France.
I'm not even sure wether it is an insect or not, but in case it is, I'd say it is some
Diptera larva (
Tipulidae ?
Syrphidae ?).
What do you think about it ?
Thanks !

I think it's a
Stratiomyidae larva: developed conical head, flattened body, visible segmentation of thorax, short spiracular tube, can crawl out of water
