Hello!

These rather large (nearly like a big Tipula), bluish black Limoniids (?) were yesterday here in Ostwestfalen/Germany very numerous on tree trunks in the dedicious forest. Is it possible to determine the genus or even species? Thanks in advance!

These are really tipulids and the thing is that they hold their wings atypically - like limoniids. This is genus Tipula subgenus Pterelachisus Smile
