Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Drosophila cf. immigrans
#1
Hello!
There are many
Drosophila at rotten fruits here in the garden (Ostwestfalen/Germany) at the moment. One species has a darkened abdomen ending. Is this
Drosophila melanogaster? Length about 3 mm. Thanks in advance!

It appears as if the cross veins are clouded. In that case it will be a species of the
quinaria group (
phalerata,
transversa, etc.).

Though some specimens are rather palish, there alo appear to be markings near the apices of some of the radial veins. In that case it could be
D. immigrans.

I must admit, I had lightened the pics a little bit by software because the photos were too dark.

Thanks a lot!
