Hi, Syrphid lovers!!!
I think this is the supposedly very common
Melanostoma scalare, but I'm only guessing as I still have too much to learn about Syrphids. But I need to be sure to take it as a reference to compare with other similar species.
Taken in the outskirts of Burgos, N Spain, on June the 5th, 2011.
Loads of thanks in advance for any help!!!

Oh, thank you, Jan, I'm so happy about the confirmation!
The "dusted frons"... that's a feature that I could never understand the meaning well, and even less in this picture as the head is slightly blurred.
I think experience here makes a lot about it!
But now I have a reference and I must compare the frons in this with the frons in other potential
Melanostoma scalare that I've photographed during this spring/summer...
Step by step learning.
Thanks a pile again, cheers
