This big larva was in fresh water (on a stream)

Mydidae not possible?

I thought Mydidae were terrestrial... I'd put my money on Stratiomys.

You're right Paul, but you won't get any of my money Pfft
You may notice these numerous small whitish spots on the back, next to the other colour pattern. This is known from Stratiomys, but not from Odontomyia (the described species of course). If I was in The Netherlands I would call this larva S. longicornis, and definitely not S. singularior. But in Portugal ?
