HI


* locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL
* date - 4.11.2006
* size - 2 mm (small fly)
* habitat - open land
* substrate - hang in a spider web... it is a prey...

Culicidae fly. is it genus possible to determine? Smile

I think this is Chironomidae, and not easy to identify genus!

this is worst than my spiders. Smile)

Chironomidae - I saw a bifurcation in tip of the abdomen... and some 6-7 segments in abdomen... dark body... but to me seemed a culicidae... now not certain.. awkward why.? thanks, tony!

Culicidae males have antennae that look very different from what you can see here.
