This was a very small fly that was active very early during the year. I have no clue what this could be.

Other views of this and other flies are on my web pages at

A leafminer fly (Agromyzidae). The wing venation points towards genus Phytomyza with more than 300 species described from Europe alone.

This fly was found invariably on cabbage or related cruciferous plants. I think this one is a cosmopoiitan pest species. Does this give any clue?

After some google search there seems to be a well-researched cosmopolitan Phytomyza sp indeed, Phytomyza rufipes. Can someone confirm that?

I have not found usable images on the net unfortunately using Phytomyza rufipes or cabbage leaf miner as keywords.
