Just trying to track down a "lost" specimen of Bothria subalpina that Villeneuve wrote about and which might be held in Villeneuve's collection somewhere. Is it in the museum in Paris and would anyone know any entomologists who are in a position to go there and look for the specimen for me?

This species has recently appeared in Scotland (collected by Murdo MacDonald and determined by David Horsfield) and, in a communication with David, Peter Tschorsnig mentioned that Villeneuve wrote of a specimen that he had been sent by Wainwright from "Birmingham", which sounds like a very intriguing and odd locality. It would be very interesting to track it down and confirm the identification and the locality for the records Smile

Try Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique - I believe that they have at least a proportion of Villeneuve's collection.
