Hello

such "broken" body profile I have seen only in the case of Stegana furta (Drosophilidae) in the gallery. Is it also Drosophilidae (Stegana, Steganina?), or something different?

size 3.5 mm, Slovakia, open land, 200 m a.s.l.
Thanks in advance.

Martin

Hi Martin,

What about Discomyza (Ephydridae)? See also Diptera Gallery.

It is really more similar to Discomyza, thanks a lot, Jan! Is it possible to go also to species level?

Hi Martin,

I believe that Discomyza incurva is the only known species in the palaearctic region. So that should be the oneSmile. Maybe one of the others can confirm this!

Jan, I must thank you again. I have never seen such fly before and I have only limited information on Ephydridae. To me, this fly looks like from other planet, Smile.
