hi Flyforum,

Some weeks ago I found a cocon of a Pieris sp.
I took it with me and wathced it with patient..
After some days I was surprised to find another cocon next to the Pieris cocon..

I first thought it was a wasp sp. and didn't think of a tachinidae sp...
So today I got another surprise..

It is a nice deepbleu coloured tachinidae which remind me of Epicampocera succincta ?

Am I close to it?

flygreet, robert

Mmm... I can't see very much of the fly - but it certainly looks like Epicampocera and the host would be right Smile But it would be nice to see the face from the side.

This ID is quite correct and, as stated, the host is typical.
