I found this Syrphid yesterday at the wood (Ostwestfalen/Germany). It was considerably smaller than the also flying Syrphus sp.. I'm not sure: could it be Parasyrphus punctulatus? Thanks in advance.
Probably it is P. punctulatus. But from the morphology alone it could be P. macularis as well. They are distinguishable by characters of the male genitalia.
