Thread subject: Diptera.info :: tiny flies

I was just handed a baggie with 3 small flies. I have no info about where they were found, or how many. These are from a condo complex in Michigan, near Detroit.

In the picture that shows all 3, the one on the left is just over 2mm long, on the right, 2mm, and the top one is about 1.5 mm The loose wing belongs to the one on the right.

As far as I can see they are all Chironomidae. Maybe someone with a knowledge of Nearctic fauna can recognise the largest one with the marking in the wing. I cannot...
