Hi,

is this a pupa of Bradysia spec., Sciaridae?
It was found in peat substrate in a production farm for ornamentals. Sciaridae are quite common in this habitat, but comparibly few adults and larvae were observed in this case.

No, this is a beetle pupa - possibly Atheta (Staphylinidae) - occasionally used for biological control of Sciaridae. Perhaps it's working!
