HI


* locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL
* date - 2007.04.22
* size - 7 mm (medium wasp)
* habitat - woodland
* substrate - Heracleum sp.



Spectacular wasp, it is a beauty. I have no doubts that some ichneumonids are among the most beautiful animals in Earth. Smile Are there any wasps in another extrasolar planet? Grin perhaps... dreaming.. Smile

Ichneumonidae family - Ichneumoninae subfamily I think!

I hope that, at least, it is possible to put a genus level for this wasp.


ANOTHER QUESTION: How can I pin the wasps? Can you provide a website that shows photos with the right steps to do that? Thanks for your attention!

Cryptinae for my!SmileNot very thick head, thin petiole, pronotum with bumps but prudence, no visible character discriminating!
