Hi!
Could someone identify which species is this fly? The picture is taken 2nd of January 2014 in Serbia.

Hello Enka,
This is a female Scaeva. Probably S. selenitica. A closely resembling species is S. dignota. In that species the frons is less inflated and the abdominal markings do not reach the side margin of the tergites.
