hi flyforum,

I first thought this must be a Tachinidae sp., but I didn't see such a wingpattern before.
Fly is about 8 mm and got lots of long hair.
There are some blondish hair on the eyes.
The fly was attracted by light and I found it next to my house.

Robert,

Hi Robert.
I think it is Tachinidae - the strange wing pattern is an aberration.
(At least if it's normal, Theo or Chris will soon put me right! Wink)

Thank you Tony for your comment.
Nice to see you are back on this forum Wink

I'll see if Theo or Chris can recognise the family or specie?

Tony is right!
It's a Phorocera obscura, one of those Sarcophagidae-pitfulls I warned for before, but... no reddish eyes !
Very common species, so try to learn this one !
