Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Limonia? on orchid

This was seen today in southern England - is it a Limonia of some kind? Extra points will be given if you can identify the orchid too! Wink

PS: and the orchid is a little bit of a 'trick' question - so be warned Grin

i don't have a guide for orchids. what i remember from head, from what i have seen one time in a book.

also i'm curios about the final ID of that Orchis.

Nephrotoma sp. Smile I saw dozens of these today in final afternoon near here.

OK, nobody got it ... but then I wasn't sure anyone would Wink It's quite a rare hybrid ... Orchis purpurea x simia Grin

The first record of this hybrid in Britain was last year on this nature reserve (see http://hartslock....)

OK, now back to flies Wink
