hello flyforum,
Yesterday I found this pretty fly on this messy leaf.
It was 'cleaning' the leaf with it's mouthparts..
What kind of fly is this busy fly?

If it is Dutch, then that would be an almost certainty.

penna means feather = wing. Really this fly shows very long wings!

Actually, compared to the thorax the wings are not exceptionally long. The abdomen, however, is relatively short. Still, the optical effect is the same.
