Hi, I recently pinned some asilids, and I just noticed after a couple of days of drying that I mistakenly pushed the pin in too far on one specimen, placing the fly too close to the head of the pin. Is there any way to correct the placement of the fly without causing damage to the specimen? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is possible to soften the specimen in a wet box setting (don't know the proper english name). You know, adsorbing materials like cotton + water just enough to near saturate it, and let the fly get humidity from it.
