Location: Midwest Sweden (Dalsland)
Size: ~15 mm
Habitat: Taraxacum

Sturdy Tachinid with eyes very far apart. The closest I come to a match in the gallery are the Gonia's, but I suspect this could be something completely different ... I hope someone can ID it.

Definitely Gonia sp. Smile I wish I actually saw some of these in England - then I might know a bit more about which one it is! Wink

Gonia picea female, I would say.

Gonia are tricky, as Chris rightly put it.
