Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anopheles larva ?

Hello,

A Culicidae larva found in North of France, Clairmarais, the 22 february 2015, in a forest, on the edge of a lake,
I think it is a Anopheles larva it is possible to say more ?

Yes, Anopheles sp. Either An. claviger or An. algeriensis (both overwintering as larva and occuring in Northern France). But from these photos I do not dare decide wich one it is.

I have keep the larva with some water maybe the adults will tell us more

The adult emerged the 07 april 2015 : http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=66574 and he is a Anopheles claviger
