Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Sciomyzidae, Limnia unguicornis from Romania

Hi,

another fly from a wet area close to Lipova (Arad county).
size aprox 5-6mm. photo taken in 25.may.2007.

maybe this is Limnia palludicola? other Limnia?

Limnia is correct. It is male, so Limnia sp. (But beware that L. unguicornis is much more common species than L.palludicolaGrin)

Hi Nikita,

thanks for help.
after Fauna Europaea only L.unguicornis is present in Romania so even only for this reason this is most probable.
so i think this will be L.unguicornis... or only L. cf unguinornis?
