hi flyforum,
What kind of little noisy hairy gnat(?) is this?
It's quite typical with it's black and white wings and strong bristle's on it's back.
Rather ugly..

For what I understand Tanypodinae are a subfamily of Chironomidae and the larvae of these Tanypodinae can give a indication for the ecological quality of the water.
