This glossy and colorful fly was happily dining on bird droppings on a leaf.

ID help would be appreciated.

Forest, West Virginia USA, 10 June 2007, about 5 mm.

I think Psila (Xenopsila) lateralis.

I need to learn more about this family. This is only my second time finding a member of Psilidae.
