Hi everyone,

who can determinate this larva?

I was far away from where it was swimming / wriggling around, so I couldn't take any better pictures.

Maybe someone can help me - thanks in advance!

I have analysed your picture
and I guess this could be a Chironomidae larvae
Orthocladiinae family...
but it's just a guess

That's interesting, I wasn't sure if this is a dipteran at all.
Thank you for venturing that guess!

Chironomidae for sure, but tribe uncertain. Could be anything, Orthocladiinae, Chironomini or even Tanypodinae. I don't think this would be Tanytarsini. For identification to genus or perhaps even species level you need to study, at least, the headcapsule in detail.

Ok, thanks for the relativisation. Next year I want to start to scoop-net there, then it'll be much easier to take detailed pictures...
