Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Broad, yellowish Tachinid --> Erycilla ferruginea

Hello!

At first I thought I was photographing a Phaonia angelicae or so, but it turned out to be a Tachinid. Found yesterday near forest (Ostwestfalen/Germany), length about 10-12 mm. Thanks for any hints!

I have a strong feeling I should know this one because those markings on the thorax came up here a few months ago - but it is too long for me to trawl through the old forum posts. Another one for the eagle-eyes of Theo I think Wink

Sorry to have been so brief, I had many to answer.
Erycilla is special in parasitizing larvae of Tipulidae. Not uncommon in summer.

It's a new one for me, whatsoever Wink. Tipulidae are many on the meadows here nearly all the warmer season.
