Hello!
This rather large Syrphid (size between that of
Eristalis interrupta
and
E. tenax
) I found yesterday here in Ostwestfalen/Germany. Is it
Cheilosia bergenstammi

Dear Juergen,
I think it is
Cheilosia canicularis
, which would fit better with the given size.
