Can anybody be so kind to help me figure out which species this is?
I made a picture last march in Death Valley during a mega bloom.

Pictures are here on the observado website with the gps coordinates.

Yes, Eupeodes sp. Impossible to go to the species with these pictures.

It's the male of Eupeodes volucris....
