Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Rhyncomyia columbina?

This morning I saw some of these flies feeding on Urginea maritima flowers, Aracena Huelva Andalusia Spain, 540 masl.

It surely looks like a
Rhyncomya, but the family is Calliphoridae, so the thread is wrong in the Syrphidae forum. The Calliphoridae experts won't find it...

It is Rhiniidae nowadays.

Yep, we already had this discussion (
http://diptera.in...;pid=42832), but I keep to the Fauna Europaea that still says Calliphoridae...

I know. I only meant to say that if you want to compare your fly in this group with pictures of related sp. you have to look in the Rhiniidae Gallery.

Paco, the thread was posted originally in the Syrphidae forum. Surely Paul moved it to its right place in the general forum
As nobody seems to say anything, it will tell you: it is R. columbina for sure, a female. It is unmistakable here in Spain
