Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Sciomyzidae, Pherbellia dorsata ?
#1
Collected in dune slack, Aberffraw, North Wales, 19 July 2016. More photos to follow.

Wing (as you no doubt realised, but one has to write something or the post doesn't work).
#3
Very short frontal stripe.

The same, in alcohol. The reason to doubt dorsata is that the hairs on the arista are shorter than the Fauna Ent. Scand. key suggests they should be. The only other possibility I can see is P. griseola. So, another opinion would be appreciated, please.

This is P. dorsata, not P. griseola or P. obtusa. Some characters in the key will not work for some individuals and in this case genitalia are still the best way for determination.

Thank you for the identification.
